4.) ACM Local Programming Competition, Saturday October 30th, 10am-230pm, CSE 002 and CSE 006
This is organized by Stuart Reges and Marty Stepp. This Saturday is a preliminary competition to determine 3 teams to represent UW CSE at the regional competition at University of Oregon on Saturday, November 13. The programming languages available to use include C, C++, and Java. I believe the teams are of three people each, start looking for teammates now! Information on team sign ups and official details will go out soon! This is a fantastic contest to be a part of (a resume entry? especially if you make it to the next round!). There will be free lunch and goodies sponsored by Google and/or Facebook. Don’t be discouraged if you are new to the department, you only need to be familiar with one language (we hope you didn’t forget 142/143). No preparation is necessary, just form a team and show up! More details soon..
