Sift Science and Chipotle Burritos, Tuesday Oct. 23rd at 6:30, ECE 125

———- Forwarded message ———
From: Ed Lazowska <lazowska@cs.washington.edu>
Date: Thu, Oct 18, 2018 at 2:01 PM
Subject: [cs-ugrads] Sift Science and Chipotle Burritos, Tuesday at 6:30, ECE 125
Jason Tan is a phenomenal alum who co-founded Sift Science, a really
interesting fraud detection company with offices in San Francisco and
Seattle. (Zorah Fung, known to many of you, works in the Seattle
office.)

On Tuesday evening at 6:30, for the 7th year in a row, Jason will do a
presentation and Q&A on the startup experience.

Jason is super-engaging. And lots has happened at Sift Science in the
past year – the stresses and strains of growth and competition – so
even if you’ve heard him before, it’s worth hearing him again. Plus,
we’ve moved on from pizza and burgers to burritos!

7th Annual Informal Q&A with

Sift Science CEO and UW CSE ‘06 Alum

Jason Tan

Tuesday, October 23rd @ 6:30pm in ECE 125

Jason will talk about why this year was one of the most challenging
years at Sift, as well as….
● Building a company
● Differences between the workplace and school
● Making the most of your time at UW
● Preparing for an internship or fulltime job in industry
● Our Seattle Office
● And whatever else you want to know…

And, we’ll have Chipotle Burritos
