If you filled out an overload request for a CSE course and have NOT heard from me directly via email, please email me. At this point I think I have contacted everyone about their course preferences. We’re still moving a few folks around, but you should have at heard from me.
We look forward to seeing everyone back in a few weeks (school starts on Sept. 30th)

FYI, unless you are registered for courses/research this summer, your Husky Card will not get you into the building. This is due to a new system the UW is using (not something that we wanted to happen, sigh). So, if you want access to the building this summer, please send your full name and student number to cardkey@cs and we’ll give you summer access. Keep in mind there are only a couple of labs open this summer, since 006 is reserved for the Access Computing group.

Hi all,
This is just a reminder for all of you completing CSE honors work this quarter that you will need to submit a copy of your approved thesis to the advisors in order to have your honors approved. Details about CSE honors requirements can be found here: http://www.cs.washington.edu/education/ugrad/current/Honors.html. This page includes a link to submit a copy of your approved thesis electronically.
Theses should be submitted by the end of this week, or early next week at the very latest.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
Thanks!
Megan

Hi everyone,
This Friday, April 17th, we’re hosting a visit for the students we’ve admitted into the department through Direct Admission for this upcoming year. From 4-5:30pm, we’ll break the visitors into smaller groups and have them rotate through two demos and building tours in about half hour increments. The graphics and HCI labs are the demos, and we’re in need of ugrad students to lead the tours of the Allen Center. That means you!
We’re expecting about 75 people total (students and parents), and we’d like to have a lot of guides to make the tour groups even smaller and more personal during each of the rotations. If you’re interested in leading or co-leading tours from 4-5:30pm on Friday, please send me a quick email to sign up. I’ll provide the guides with more details and instructions before the event.
Anyone who helps out is also invited to join us for the reception at 5:30 in the Atrium.
Thanks!
Megan

Hey everyone,
Just an FYI, the overload request form is now open for CSE majors needing CSE courses. This includes everyone wanting to take 454, advanced internet systems. Even though it appears to have space, we decided to wait to see how many people filled out the request form, so if you are hoping to add that capstone, you should also fill it out.
Let us know if you have questions.
