Hello, CSE majors! The application for CSE departmental exchange programs will open this week! If you’re interested in studying in Europe, you can prepare for the application by reading our info online.
Some basics:
- We have a new exchange to EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, along with three well-established exchanges to ETH Zurich, KTH in Stockholm, and Saarland in Saarbrueken, Germany.
- Courses are taught in English
- Exchanges last one semester (usually two quarters) or one full year.
- You can get CSE credit for exchange courses.
- You pay regular UW tuition while abroad (extra expenses include travel, insurance).
- Students usually go abroad when they’re ready to take senior-level courses.
- Students are selected based on academic preparation, and a short statement that conveys your interest and personal preparation.
The application will open this week, and is due February 2.
Decisions will be made by February 11.
Selected students must commit to their exchange by February 25.
If you have questions, please contact me or another advisor as soon as possible! Exchanges are wonderful, but require lots of planning — it’s best to start early.
