Study abroad opportunity for graduating seniors

Kauffman, the Foundation of Entrepreneurship, will select five students with a background in engineering, science, or technology to study at Nanyang Technological University from the last week of May 2009 to the end of October 2009. “The scholars will focus on how to take innovative ideas developed in the laboratory and turn them into businesses with growth potential and strong appeal for the rapidly expanding Asian marketplace.” The Kauffman Foundation will cover tuition, room and board, and travel expenses.

Eligible students meet the following criteria:
-Major in engineering, technology, or science field
-Will earn a baccalaureate degree in Spring 2009 or have earned a baccalaureate degree or master’s degree with the last 3 years
-Have academic or professional experience helping to bring a new technology to market, resulting in creation or expansion of a business enterprise
-Possess a current US passport or are eligible to receive one
-students enrolled in postgraduate programs also are eligible
-strong preference for students whose science, engineering, or technology interests converge with formal business study

Kauffman is particularly, though not exclusively, interested in funding students who are citizens of Kansas or Missouri.
