OK, so there’s been a little trouble in the economy recently. Hiring may be reduced at some companies. This gives you even more reason to polish your resume, attend these two career fairs, and meet some recruiters!
A little encouragement from Ed Lazowska: “Our experience is that the students who have strong records and market themselves and are open-minded about a variety of companies continue to do well. The students who expect jobs to fall into their laps from employers desperate for talent do not.” Be one of the prepared students! Read on for fair details.
SEBA: The 29th annual UW Science and Engineering Career Fair introduces science and engineering students to the continually growing number of companies in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the Nation. More than 140 companies will attend, so bring your freshly-edited resume to the HUB Ballroom on Thursday!
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008
12:00pm – 5:00pm
UW HUB East and West Ballrooms, on the second floor
The Career Fair will bring companies from all over the nation, but most will be recruiting for offices within the Pacific Northwest. The companies will be looking for an array of different majors and will be recruiting for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. As the name would suggest, most companies will be searching for science and engineering disciplines, but all are welcome.
CSE Affiliates: Thirty-six companies are scheduled to attend (the maximum capacity in the Atrium), plus a waiting list. These companies are CSE Affiliates, and are here for the specific purpose of recruiting CSE majors. Most are local companies, but size and style varies — lots of different opportunities!
If you recently joined CSE and are hesitant about your preparation for an internship, please still bring copies of your resume and prepare to talk about what interests you. We still strongly encourage everyone to attend!
