Dear Student:
The University of Washington belongs to the Name Exchange (NNE) Consortium, a consortium of universities nationwide whose goal is to inform minority undergraduate students of the opportunities available in graduate school. We would like to invite you to participate in this name exchange by clicking on the link below. By doing so, you will receive graduate admissions and financial aid information from many of the participating institutions. Click on this link for the entire list of National Name Exchange participants.
How to Participate:
It is quick and easy to participate in the NNE. Information you provide using the secure web site will be accessed only by representatives from participating universities who will provide you information about their graduate programs, summer research, and internship opportunities. The absolute deadline for participation is Friday, July 26, 2019. Once this deadline is passed, we will be unable to make any changes to the profile in your database. Click on the link below:

Hello! The BS/MS application is now open.
A couple of notes about the application:
- We will contact your faculty recommenders after the application closes. You should talk to them in advance, but do not need to coordinate the actual recommendation process.
- You may not find a person you want to use as a reference in the drop down menu. If that is the case, it may be that:
-
- They are a graduate student with whom you have been doing research. In that case, we generally encourage them to work with their faculty adviser to submit on their behalf. Please let us know if this is problematic. Graduate students who have taught courses are fine to have as references and should be on there.
- They may be a guest lecturer. In that case, if we still have contact with them we will try to include them. Contact us with questions.
- They may be affiliate faculty and may not be in our system yet. Let us know and I’ll have it updated.
- They may be totally unaffiliated with CSE. If you would still like to use them as references, please email Jen.

ACM is hosting a Meet a Grad Student mixer on Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00 – 5:30pm in CSE 305 to introduce UW CSE undergraduates to CSE graduate students. This is a chance to learn more about what it’s like to pursue a PhD in Computer Science, and to gain insight from graduate students’ personal experiences with applying to and preparing for PhD programs.
The mixer will begin with brief introductions of each graduate student so the undergraduates can become familiar with everyone present. Then, undergraduates will break up into groups each headed by a graduate student where they will be free to ask questions and discuss anything they would like. Brownies will be provided as a light snack for those who attend!
Please sign up if you are an undergraduate student interested in attending our event:
