Hi all,

There is ACM Movie Night this Friday at 5:20pm in EEB 105. We’ll be watching Her.

Next week, with ACMW, there will be two Career Fair Prep workshops from 4:30-5:30pm, Monday and Tuesday evenings. We will go over the basics of career fairs, if this will be your first one, and then also practice how to talk to recruiters about yourself and what you’re looking for. Location will be announced later this week, so stay tuned!

Interview Prep workshops are still happening. These will be a recurring weekly even this quarter, Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30pm in CSE 305.

Also, if you haven’t RSVP-ed for winter ball yet, you should fill out this form to let us know!  Winter ball is our big social event for the quarter, and a great opportunity to take a break from homework to socialize with others! There will be food, drinks for 21+, and music!

Hi all,

We hope your week is going well. This is a reminder that Research Night is tomorrow night! Please come to the lightning talks session in EEB 125, starting at 4:30pm. Then after that, there will be open lab time for you to walk around and talk to the representatives from the different labs. Almost every lab is looking for undergraduates, so if you’re interested in getting involved in research, this is your event! If that doesn’t convince you, there will be cookies!

Hey CSE,

We’re excited to announce that Research Night will happen next Thursday, November 30th, starting at 4:30pm in EEB 125. The goal of this event is to connect undergrad students with the CSE labs to see what’s happening currently, and optionally to give undergrads an opportunity to ask about research opportunities within these labs.

The event will have two parts.

1. Lightning talks (EEB 125 at 4:30pm): We will have an introduction by Zach Tatlock, and then representatives from each lab will give a brief overview of their lab and projects.
2. Open labs (CSE at ~5:30pm): After lightning talks, participating labs will be open to undergrads. You can talk more in depth with labs that sounded interesting and also eat cookies that will be in each lab.

Hi all,

In case you didn’t know, there is a fridge in the ACM lounge that is open to students to store food! It is going to be cleaned out this Thursday (11/2) evening in preparation for Fall Fest on Friday. You’re always welcome to store food there, but take your stuff home before Thursday. We will throw out food and place containers in the sink or dishwasher.
