Hello Allen School Students,
The ACM team is excited to announce that Snack Overflow 2.0 is coming tomorrow! We will have an opening event at 1:00pm tomorrow to showcase the new system!
Why the change?
Snack Overflow has had a couple of issues in the past. The check-out system was confusing to use and has periodically crashed. We also had issues with students accumulating too much debt, which means we didn’t have enough money for the following order. Snack Overflow is a student run store. It is not funded by the Allen School, and we depend on the honor system to keep going. We hope that this new system will solve our previous issues and keep Snack Overflow consistently stocked!
What’s different?
We’re going cashless
We are using a new checkout system (Square) that will accept all major credit and debit cards.
New self-checkout system
We’re replacing the old PC with a tablet. Please remember that this is an honor-based system and we rely on you paying for the snacks you take to keep SO stocked! Also, please respect the tablet and avoid damaging it (spills/scratches/drops) as we won’t be replacing it and may have to discontinue SO.
No more debt
We will phase out the Snack Overflow account system. You will not be able to add money to your account and/or accumulate debt with this new system. Instead, just pay as you go. If you have an existing Snack Overflow account with a balance, look for a separate email about your refund (or payment).
Bigger snacks
Since the new Square system requires a $1 minimum purchase, we will be upgrading some of our existing products (example: switching from soda cans to bottles) and also offer bundling options.
